Artist Bio

Dr Kehinde Adepegba is an artist, art critic/historian, creative writer, and bilingual author, who has made significant contributions to the fields of literature, art, and academia. H epossess National Diploma (ND) in Fine Arts, Ibadan, in 1989; B.A. Fine Arts (Graphic Design) Ife, in 1997; M.A. Visual Arts (History of Arts) Akoka, in 2006; M.A. and Ph.D respectively in African Art Studies, Ife, 2016 and 2021.   After working in the private sector for close to 15 years, Adepegba joined the Department of Art and Industrial Design, Lagos State Polytechnic in 2010 as a Lecturer. In July 2022, after the transmutation to Lagos State University of Science and Technology, he was appointed the first Ag. Head of Department. His research focus is African communal art and visual culture especially of the Yoruba art and artists within the milieu of continuity and change.  <span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; color: #222222; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;">Adepegba is a recipient of many awards, which include 2015 Distinguished Scholar Award by Lagos Chapter of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA), Best Paper presenter at the Environmental Design and Management International Conference (EDMIC 2017)- OAU, Ile-Ife, 2022 LASUSTECH Distinguished Personality Award of Excellence for Contribution to Teaching, Research and Institutional Development by iSTEAMS International Multidisciplinary Conference and 2022 Lagos Studies Association (LSA)
