Artwork Description:
Drawing from the visual and cultural language of the Eyo masquerade, this work continues the artist’s exploration of leadership as both presence and procession.
The figure, rendered with a commanding yet restrained elegance, evokes the ceremonial authority associated with “Asiwaju”—the one who leads. Rooted in the cultural heritage of Lagos, the composition reflects a dialogue between continuity and contemporary interpretation—where tradition is not static, but continually reimagined.
