Artist Bio

Olusegun Jide AJIBOYE, an indigene of Erinmope Ekiti, Ekiti State was born in Lagos in 1968 by artist-parents; Josy Ajiboye (painter and cartoonist) and Christiana Adunni Ajiboye (tie-dye
and batik designer). After his elementary training at Methodist Primary School, Mushin and secondary school education at Eko Boys’ High School, also in Mushin, he obtained a National
Diploma in General Arts (1989) from the Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos, from where he proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osun State, where he obtained a B. A. in Fine Arts (1993), Master of Fine Arts degree (M. F. A.) specialising in Painting (2000), Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) in African Art Studies (2011) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) in African Art Studies (2016). He has been lecturing since 1999 in Obafemi Awolowo University,
Ile-Ife with many published articles and exhibitions (group and joint) to his credit. His works come in painting, batik, and pottery.
