"Gele" series Gele is the Yorùbá name given to hear tie or scarf women commonly wear in many parts of West Africa. Certain Head ties are also commonly worn by Married Women as symbol of marriage. The head tie is used as an ornamental head covering or fashion accessory, or for functionality in different settings. when they are going to a big funeral . Without applying gele to their dress they are not complete, it enhances their aesthetic appearance as well as invites admirers towards themselves, especially men.

Artist Bio:

Damola Adeyemo is a native of Oyo state in Nigeria. He trained informally under Oyebanji Banjo in ijinle Art studio from 2009-2010 and Dotun popoola the Nigeria born international scrap metal sculptor and painter 2012-2016. Adeyemo works within the boredline of African and traditional aesthetic especially Yoruba culture. His style of painting is unique.
