The painting depicts the first disobedience in the Bible whereby Eve lured her husband Adam to eat fruit from the forbidden tree in the garden. The repercurssions of this singular act still stay with us till date
Artist Bio
Wole Ayoola (b. 1968) studied Fine Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife and graduated in 1999. As an artist whose interests and practice straddle different areas in visual arts, since his graduation from the university, he has practiced as an illustrator, graphic designer, production assistant for agencies and as an art teacher. He was an artist in residence at Ebedi International Writers residence at Iseyin, 2018. Wole has had different group and joint art exhibitions while his first solo exhibition was held in 2018 at Cornelius Adepegba Museum of African Art (CAMAA), Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan. His works have been collected by corporate bodies and individual both at home and abroad. Wole is a full time studio artist based in Ibadan, Nigeria. Styles used in my works have evolved through the years with inherent philosophies that underline the Ona art movement from Ife art school, these are prevalent in most of my works.
