It was named Third-Mainland Bridge because it is the third of the three bridges that connects Lagos Island with the Mainland – the other two being the Eko and Carter Bridges. The Third-Mainland Bridge is the longest of the three bridges. The project was started and completed by the government of General Ibrahim Babangida. The scheme was built in two phases. Phase one saw construction between Lagos Island and the road interchange at Ebute Metta – a neighbourhood of mainland Lagos – between 1976 and 1980. is the second largest in Africa. And Constructed by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC and inaugurated by President Ibrahim Babangida in 1990. It measures about 11.8 km (7.3 miles) Source by Google Search.

Artist Bio

Gaspard Linouenou Koutchika Is a multiple award winning photographer who was born on 23/06/1974 in the Republic Du Benin and moved to Nigeria in his early childhood age. He started Photography in 2008 and took it up as a career and profession in 2015. His passion for street photography led to his career as a photojournalist where he created a continuous learning platform for photographers in Nigeria and Africa which is known as the Photography Chat Room International (PCRI) in 2015, which is recorded to be the biggest photography community (Photography Platform) in Africa. He also introduced the Red lens project in 2016 and initiated the PHOTOTREKSERIES on the 12th of may 2018. He attended the NIKON SUMMIT TRAINING in 2015/2016, the Beyond image writing workshop in 2016 organized by Nlele institute Nigeria, the Fotofactory Lagos workshop in 2017/2018/2019 as a student, the canon and Nlele alumni in 2017, the Lagos State Technical And Vocational Training (LASTVEB 2017)(ARTISAN TRAININGG/LSETF 2019 and also attended the Creative convergence in 2017 as a speaker. His zeal in his career as a photojournalist has brought him to participate in various competitions such as The environmental awareness photo competition in 2016 with the 1st position, The Earth Folks Ambassador Award 2016 and the first runner up in the food category at the Etisalat Photography competition 2015 organized by the African Artist Foundation and lots more. He has won 128 international photography awards on Viewbug Community 2018/2019, the Celebrity International photography awards 2020, Top Shot Award 2022 and award of Street Ambassador 2019 by Lagos State Professional Photographers of Nigeria. (LASSPAN). Gaspard has since been organizing events and exhibiting projects in the name of his profession. His Photograph session with Gaspard in February 2014 was the first followed by numerous others such as the Porto Novo photo walk in February 2015/16, the photography conference (PCRIC PHOTO CLUB) 2016, 2017,2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and he has used his Phototrekseries Workshop Project to train passionate street and documentary photographers across Nigerian states expanding it to other West African continents at large. He has also been diligent enough to carry out THE LEGAL TENDER PROJECT exhibited by the photo carrefour in Abuja 2019, Reflection and Effects of Covid19 2020, THE MALE CHILD CIRCUMCISION Exhibited in the Fez Gathering Morocco and also in Ludwig-Maximillians University in Munich, Germany by Eva Maria Ocherbauer among others. He is presently working on a project which focuses on the Dirt around Lagos State and Eko Akete Ilu Ogbon (Lagos the land that teaches wisdom) and #EndSars protest. Gaspard in 2020 he was Head Technical Department & Technical Assistant/Adviser to the GM-COO/MD-CEO at Colvi Limited (Studio24). 2022 Gaspard joined the web3 and he has listed some collections of his NFT projects and he is still creating amazing lifetime pieces and working on numerous digital art coming to @artgidi in nearest future.
