Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela the anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist and his government focused on dismantling the legacy of apartheid through tackling institutionalised racism, poverty and inequality, and fostering racial reconciliation. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela is often described as "the father of the nation". Who have received more than 250 honours, including the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a private person who often concealed his emotions and confided in very few people. Privately, he lived an austere life. "I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons will live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal for which I hope to live for and to see realised. But, My Lord, if it needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." — Rivonia Trial Speech, 1964
Artist Bio
Chibuike Ifedilichukwu (b.1986, Enugu). He grew up in his community Akwaeze in Anambra Nigeria, with his grandmother who is eco-friendly and has a strong belief in the Igbo philosophy which says ‘egbe belu, ugo ebelu’ meaning ‘live and let live.’ Her ideals cut deep into him and molded his inspiration as an environmentalist and a multidisciplinary artist. He has distinguished himself in waste upcycling creativity. His works addresses the issues of climate change and its effect on economy and the environment. He has taken part in exhibitions; Made In Nigeria Art Master Class/Exhibition, Nigerian German Center (2021); October Rain Art Exhibition, Lagos (2020); The Pan Africa Circle of Artists, Conference, IMT Enugu (2019) and 2nd International Art Fair, National Gallery of Art, Enugu, Nigeria (2018). Chibuike was among the artist featured in 2020 Art Mentoring Session, Spain Embassy and ArtX REVIEW, Lagos Nigeria. He won numerous art prices: 2017 Winner, Sterling Bank Plc, Recycle Art Competition, Lagos; 2018 Overall Winner, Life in My City Art Festival, Enugu; 2019 NYEES Grant, Engaging Creative Arts for National Development, Abuja; 2018 Photo Competition, Open Day for Gardeners, Lagos Nigeria; 2019, China-Nigeria Friendship in Pictures, Photo Awards, Abuja Nigeria; Tenant at Naija Hood Rep television reality Show 2022... He obtained Higher Diploma in Fine Arts from Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, Nigeria (2012) and his professional affiliations are Society of Nigeria Artist (SNA) and Pan African Circle of Artists (PACA). He presently works in his studio in his community.
