Artist Bio
<p>ATAYERO Olufemi Samuel, a native of Ilesha, Osun State, f inds his artistic roots in the ancient city of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, Nigeria. Graduating from the Oyo State College of Education in 2008 with a National Certificate in Education (Fine Arts), he continued his journey at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, obtaining a B.A. in Fine Art in 2018. An artist in residence at Ife Grand Resort and Leisure, IléIfe, from 2019-2020, and currently at Tunde Odunlade Arts and Culture Connexion, Ibadan, Atayero is on a perpetual exploration of his craft. He passionately expresses himself through sand (terachroma) paintings, thread and needle creations, and the captivating batik resist technique, drawing inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of his surroundings. In 2021, Atayero showcased his artistic prowess in the exhibition “Esin Ofa’ja,” held at Tunde Odunlade Art and culture connexions, delving into the culture of religious tolerance among the people. Through this exhibit, he skillfully portrayed the essence of harmony and coexistence, contributing to the dialogue on cultural understanding and unity. His work continues to be a testament to the rich heritage, history, and spirit of Africa, inviting viewers on a visual journey through time and tradition.</p>
