Artist Bio

Olatunbosun Ayodeji Oluwaseun is a visual artist born in the early 80s in Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria. He holds NCE in Fine & Applied Arts(Double Major) at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta in 2006 where he specialized in painting textiles, he proceeded to have B.Ed(FINE ARTS) at Obafemi Awolowo University (2010) and Master in Fine Arts (Textiles) O.A.U Ife in 2017 Olatunbosun is the C.E.O of xpressionale Afrodesigns, a fashion company and studio based in Abeokuta. A fashion brand founded to promote indigenous African culture and heritage through the use of ADIRE fabrics and other African fabrics, promoting self-reliance through vocational training, raising creative soldiers through mentorship and entrepreneurship training for the sustainability of our core African culture and tradition. Olatunbosun is a Christian pastor of a church located @Odeda LGA, Abeokuta. He is a convener of One Culture Africa - an NGO initiative for child development through empowerment in art programs, seminars, and workshops to foster creativity and open them up to endless opportunities in arts.   Olatunbosun Ayodeji is happily married. Olatunbosun is a member of the Society of Nigerian Artist-Ogun state and a member of Arts in Medicine, a Non-Governmental Organisation that explores ART as a panacea for healing, health, and wholeness.   Olatunbosun has staged three solo exhibitions and participated in several joint exhibitions, and trade fairs and he has facilitated many workshops, seminars, and symposiums on Adire processing and production and ART as a whole. Olatunbosun Ayodeji's artistic practice is developmental in concepts, materials, and styles. Olatunbosun's works address issues surrounding humanity as a whole from politics, religion, social, economic, educational, entertainment, etc with an Artistic expression of lines and text as a medium of communication and engagement. Olatunbosun Ayodeji's artistic handwriting constitute greatly to his unique style of Art as a vehicle for his expression and interpretation of philosophy coupled with an understanding of African motifs which guides his working process. Olatunbosun Ayodeji explores different mediums especially the use of indigenous fabrics (dyed, woven, and printed) to convey his thought, ideas, and expressions both as a canvas and for multimedia use, this further highlights the endless use of African fabrics as a work of Art in itself thus enhancing is aesthetical appreciation.
