Artist Bio
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">A contemporary Nigerian artist who obtained her B. A. Degree from the Department of Fine and Applied Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with a specialization in painting. Inspired by her personal experiences and situations in her immediate environment, Naomi’s thematic disposition is a reflection of a man’s soul and thoughts mirrored into reality. She hopes to hammer on equity; giving voice to the voiceless and speaking on societal situations with her art. Her preferred medium of oil colour on canvas allows her to create fine textures of lines and layered work with the impasto and traditional painting techniques.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 0cm; line-height: normal; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"> </span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 12.0pt; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;">She has featured in various group exhibitions and participated in art workshops. She was awarded the winner in the Visual Art Category from Nigeria of the African Union Feminist programme in the year 2020. She has also worked with an organization called Teach for Nigeria as a Fellow to teach in Nigeria’s underserved schools in low communities. She is a member of the Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) and also a member of the Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FEAAN).</span></p>
