In Nigerian villages, most of the inhabitants normally go to the farm leaving the town empty and deserted. Just a few very old and very young individuals are normally seen playing around.
Artist Bio
Ayokunle Komolafe, a media consultant with a special interest in television and radio production, studied Fine Arts at the Yaba College of Technology.
He worked at Federal Radio Corporation, Ikoyi, and Silverbird Television, Lagos before establishing his own outfit, Komsons Studios, providing media support services for organizations.
He has created a number of projects both in public spaces and private collections. His works are mostly about the beauty of life and his inspirations are mainly from the daily lives of the people he meets in his day-to-day interactions.
In 2021, he participated in a group exhibition – The Gods of This Age at the Didi Museum.
He combines his career as a media practitioner with his art and has produced a number of portraits, and murals and also works with some other colleagues on several projects around Lagos. Ayokunle believes that the media should be used in projecting creativity, this made him create a radio program for poets and it ran on Radio Nigeria Lagos and Rhythm FM between 2014 and 2017.
