Artist statement.
Great Ife art school is noted for its propagation of Onaism, ornamentation and decorations in their artforms. In this work, I have gone beyond Onaism, expressing "ona" in my own way. The painting titled, Phases of Life is an attempt to represent life's situation as can be observed in their faces." It is a documentation of different stages of man as he attempts to cope with life.
