Artist Bio
Born on the 14th march,1954 into a family of Yoruba Royal carvers called,Ajibogunde in Ogbomoso,Oyo state. Had my elementary and secondary schools in Accra Ghana. Attended Ogbomoso Grammar School, Adeyemi college of education,Ondo,Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Ibadan and Commonwealth Open University,UK. I have NCE,BA,MA and Ph.D(Art history). I retired in 2019 from the Dept. Of Art and Design, Polytechnic Ibadan. Currently,I'm the CEO and founder Centre for Afrikan art and Designs Awotan Ibadan. My art activities have taken me to Ghana,Burina Faso, Zambia, Egypt,America, India, Lithuania,France, Italy for international residencies and workshops.I have developed a style of painting expression called NEO-OYEKOLAFORMS.My works are in the collection of World Bank Washington DC USA and The Institute of African Studies University of Ibadan Nigeria I have 5 international awards and several local awards. Im a Justice of Peace of Oyo state. I have 10 international exhibitions and several national and local exhibitions.Married with children.
