"SITTIN UP IN MY ROOM" is one of art the pieces in my #covid-19 quarantine lockdown series. An average adult in the nooks and crannies all over world were gripped by the fear of certain uncertainties. For many, its chiefly the concerns about survival. Economic survival – family finance, job security, businesses folding up e.t.c. Survival of the fittest – body health immunity against coronavirus. Hardly would you find a responsible individual who has not taken a moment of solemn reflection during the height of the viral scourge. Therefore, as the circumstances of life sometimes crushes down the human soul, my art reminds you that you one.
Artist Bio:
In my childhood days, I was a regular weekend visitor to my father's merchandise office in Sabo, an exclusive area in Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria, where in adjourning streets, aboriginal cultural artefacts and sculptures where and, is still one of the most highly priced articles of trade. As luck would have it, these cultural objects later on came to play a big part in my depiction and stylization of an austere figurative composition.
